Electric vehicle commercial - same inventor as the iron lung (1940)

"How time flies," announces the advertisement for this electric vehicle from the 1940s. Citing "wartime and petrol rationing," this ad has all the appeal of the era, including the old-timee music. They promote the vehicle's maneuverability, how easily it moves into and out of tight spaces, and a top speed of 60mph.

"The design of this all-electric is as modern as tomorrow," he claims, and it's hard to believe the automobile industry has only come so far so fast since the iron lung. Absolutely classic, yet it's hard to laugh with Detroit on its knees and today's economic and political climate being what it is. Sometimes it's nice to have a moment's relief to look back at simpler times.

Pass it on,
