Melting steel with solar power

This solar power system - or furnace - reaches temperatures of 2400 degrees. This is a quick one that shows another use for solar technology, here it is used in an industrial setting as opposed to throwing some panels up on a rooftop. Solar panels are typically used to create energy and help power one's home or office. Here the energy is being focused onto a piece of steel.
